1. select a 1 inch by 1 inch square of text from a magazine.  It should look something like this.

 

2. Divide your canvas board in to 4 equal sections like the image above.

 

3.  draw an outline of your text in the first box

 

4.  Rotate the text 90 degrees, and draw another outline.

 

5. Repeat step 4 two more times.

 

6. In one box, use complementary colors.

 

7.  In another box, use an analogous color scheme.

 

8.  In the remaining two boxes, use any colors of your choice.
